Assessment Process
How the Evaluation Process Works
We begin with a planning consultation to understand your concerns, review your history, and determine whether a focused or comprehensive assessment is the best next step.
01
Initial Assessment Consultation
30 minutes · In-person or telehealth
Discuss your concerns and relevant clinical history, identify the appropriate evaluation scope with your psychologist, and review the assessment process, fees, and next steps.
For assessment planning only; this is not a complete diagnostic evaluation.
02
Select the scope. Complete the evaluation.
The scope is chosen with your psychologist, based on your clinical history, symptom complexity, and the diagnostic clarity needed. Once determined, the selected assessment is completed.
03
Review findings. Plan your next steps.
Each option includes a feedback appointment to review results, discuss diagnostic findings, and outline individualized recommendations and next steps tailored to your situation.
Evaluation options
Two Assessment Scopes, One Evidence-Based Path.
Not everyone needs extensive psychological testing. Your psychologist will help determine the scope that fits your clinical history and the diagnostic clarity needed.

- Evaluation of functional impairment across important areas of life
- Differential diagnostic assessment
- Written summary of findings, diagnostic conclusions, and individualized recommendations

Adults seeking an initial ADHD evaluation without significant diagnostic uncertainty or indications for more extensive psychological testing.
Comprehensive ADHD & Differential Diagnostic Assessment
$3,000

An in-depth psychological assessment for adults with complex clinical presentations, overlapping symptoms, or diagnostic questions requiring more extensive investigation.
What the evaluation includes
- Extensive clinical, psychiatric, and developmental history
- Comprehensive assessment of ADHD symptoms and executive functioning
- Individually selected standardized psychological measures
- Detailed differential diagnostic evaluation
- Review of relevant clinical records and collateral information, when indicated
- Integration and interpretation of assessment findings
- Comprehensive psychological report with diagnostic conclusions and individualized recommendations
- Feedback appointment to review results and treatment planning
Best suited for
Adults with complex clinical presentations, overlapping psychological symptoms, previous inconclusive evaluations, or diagnostic questions requiring more extensive investigation.
Different scope and depth. The same standard of care.
Both assessment options are conducted by a licensed psychologist and follow evidence-based diagnostic practices. The difference is the scope and depth of evaluation, not the quality of care.
All ADHD assessments are private-pay and are not billed through insurance. The $150 consultation fee is separate from evaluation fees.
Choosing the Right Scope
Which Assessment Is Right for Me?
Not everyone seeking an ADHD diagnosis requires extensive psychological testing. For some adults, a focused clinical evaluation provides sufficient information to establish a diagnosis and develop appropriate treatment recommendations. Others benefit from a more comprehensive assessment to clarify overlapping symptoms or address diagnostic uncertainty.
Both assessment options are conducted by a licensed psychologist and follow evidence-based diagnostic practices. The difference is the scope and depth of evaluation, not the quality of care.
