Dr. Alyssa Smyth
Licensed clinical psychologist
I’m Dr. Alyssa Smyth, a licensed psychologist working with adults who carry significant responsibility — professionally, personally, or both. My approach integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and interpersonal frameworks, with particular attention to how identity, personal values, relationships, and real-world demands intersect under pressure. I help clients develop greater psychological flexibility, navigate competing responsibilities, and make intentional choices that align with their values, even in demanding or uncertain circumstances.

Therapeutic Stance
Our Practical, Collaborative Approach Together
My practice is intentionally focused on adults navigating demanding careers, significant life transitions, anxiety, depression, burnout, ADHD and complex interpersonal challenges. Therapy here is practical, collaborative and goal-oriented.
01
Practical & Goal-Oriented
Every session is structured around clear goals and real-world applications instead of open-ended exploration without direction.
02
Active Collaboration
Therapy here is a mutual, active process. We work together to better understand the patterns maintaining your difficulties and develop effective strategies for change.
03
Sustainable Skill Building
The aim is to build skills that remain useful long after therapy has ended — not just temporary relief, but lasting capacity for steadier functioning.
Growth Follows a Spiral
In nature, some of the most resilient structures are built in spirals — gradual, layered, and stronger for their curves. I see the same pattern in psychological growth: we often circle back to familiar challenges, but each time from a higher vantage point, with deeper insight and greater steadiness. Progress isn’t always a straight line — and that’s exactly what makes it lasting.
